Today I'm working on my 16th appliqué block for my friendship group. I love doing appliqué but it took a little while to get the hang of it. I still need more practice before it's perfect.
However, the journey is fun!

Today I went to a great outdoor sale at our local quilt store. It was so much fun and lots of great deals!

I loved making and designing this pincushion. It was crocheted with wool and embellished with layers and layers of thread. 

I went to an amazing quilt show in Southern California this last weekend and learned a new helpful tip for joining two strips of fabric together with no sewing and no knots. It works great!

This weekend I went to a great Quilt Show in Modesto, Ca. I picked up a great new tool for making rag rugs. I'm looking forward to using up all of my ugly fabrics, and seeing what I can come up with. I'm thinking about making a purse.

This pin cushion is made out of repurposed wool and even drapery fabric. Then finished off with a crocheted trim.

Don't you just love the versatility of fleece. This is a poncho I made for my granddaughter.

Baby is on the way!

I love this time of year...the yarn is on sale everywhere! I can't keep  myself from buying more even though I  already have a closet full. Well, at least I have plenty of patterns to keep myself busy. I just finished a granny square blanket  for my daughters baby shower(its a girl!). I have to get busy on those little booties. I love the colors she picked for the nursery...green and purple! Its fun to work with colors other then just  pink ( although I love pink!).

Hello again!

Well, it's been a long time since I've posted anything because I still don't know how this works. I don't know if anyone is looking or not. Anyway, I have been very busy making a bunch of pin cushions. I get such joy out of designing these! I get to use all of my crafting skills in one project, crocheting, beading and handstitching!

I love yo-yo's! I wanted a way to display my yo-yo's until I am ready to us them. So I pinned  them to a paper-machie letter, that I purchased from my local craft store. Now I get to look at them, instead of  hiding them in a container.

Aprons...can you have enough?

I love to crochet, it is so relaxing. These little dish cloths are so easy, you can whip out a couple in one evening. I use two strands of 100% cotton yarn for that extra chunky feel . Use a single crochet for the first row, double crochet second row and so on. Then a nice little ruffle around for that cute little touch.

I love all of the bright colors that are available now.

This is a travel sewing kit made from 100% wool and upholstery fabric. I used vintage buttons and beads to embellish. I just love making these...the possibles are endless.

This is a puppy I made for my little grandson. It too was made from upholstery scraps and vintage buttons.

Another pin cushion...I just can't stop making these. This one is made from a tin can, upholstery scraps and a little trim.

Hand stitched small wallet. I created this using upholstery scraps. Then embellished it with a vintage button and embroidery.

This decorative pillow was embellished using crayons to color the design, embroidery stitches, silk flowers and beads. Sewn together with recycled upholstery fabric.
